Soil remediation and management
In October 2013 a translation function was added to the bodemrichtlijn.nl site. Internationally, there is a great deal of interest in Dutch knowledge about sediment and soil management. That knowledge is now available in 72 languages. Dutch governments, embassies, NL EVD International and companies can therefore use this tool for their foreign activities and contacts.
Translation Function
With the translation feature, this knowledge has become available in 72 languages, including Chinese, English, French, German, Russian and Arabic, as well as Yiddish, Icelandic, Catalan, Latvian, Swahili or Urdu. There is even a Latin translation.
Validated information
The site provides important knowledge about soil and sediment management. The Directive provides validated information for the Dutch situation (established policies, applicable laws and regulations, proven methods of soil investigation and remediation techniques, formally approved knowledge products, etc).
The website is a product of the joint authorities: the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment, provinces, municipalities and water boards. Soil+ acts as an executive, as a 'quality controller' and is responsible for the functional management of the site.
