General provisions act 'Wabo'

Inhoud pagina: Activities and projects

The Wabo covers a number of activities for which an all-in-one Permit for Physical Aspects is required. A project can consist of one or more activities. These activities can be divided into three main groups:

  1. Activities for which the permit is a statutory requirement (art. 2.1, section 1 Wabo).
In principle, these activities require a permit. Exceptions are listed in national regulations. The requirements for applications for the relevant authorisation are also recorded at national level, in the Environmental Law Regulation.
  2. Activities for which the permit is a requirement by provincial or municipal order. And the law states that this permit is an all-in-one Permit for Physical Aspects (art. 2.2, section 1 Wabo).
For these activities, a provincial or municipal order determines whether and in which cases a permit is required. The requirements which apply to the application for the relevant authorisation are recorded at national level in the Environmental Law Regulation.
  3. Activities for which the permit is a requirement by provincial, municipal or water authority order. And the law states that this permit is an all-in-one Permit for Physical Aspects (art. 2.2, section 2 Wabo).
For these activities, a provincial, municipal or water authority order determines whether and in which cases an all-in-one Permit for Physical Aspects is required. This order also describes the requirements which apply to the application for the relevant authorisation.

Depending on the project, an all-in-one Permit for Physical Aspects may consist of authorisations for one or more activities from the various main groups.
