In order to meet the criteria for EU membership, Turkey needs to invest in several sectors and transpose and/or implement European legislation. Most of the projects in which InfoMil is participating in Turkey are being executed within the framework of the Dutch/Turkish G2G programme on behalf of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the environment (IM).

Together with DCMR (Environmental Protection Agency of Rotterdam), InfoMil implemented a bilateral project for the department air management of the Turkish Ministry of the Environment and Forestry on capacity building in industrial air pollution control. The project was a Government-to-Government (G2G) project of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the environment (IM).

In this project administrative and legal conditions and structures to harmonise and implement the three EU Volatile Organic Compound Directives ( Storage-94/63/EC, Solvents-99/13/EC, Paints-2004/42/EC) were developed.

Together with the Dutch Government Service for Land and Water Management (DGL), InfoMil implemented a bilateral project in Turkey. The aim of the project was to set up a training programme to implement EU Water Quality Sector Directives. Turkey is a candidate Member State of the EU and therefore intends to implement European environmental legislation.

InfoMil together with other Dutch organisations operating in the water sector worked in close cooperation with Turkish counterpart Iller Bank and beneficiary Ministry of the Environment and Forestry on a bilateral project to Develop Appropriate Methodology for Wastewater Treatment in Small and Medium-Sized Municipalities in Turkey.
